Since the beginning of time, grand narratives have helped societies interpret, explain, and give meaning to their daily worlds around them. The basic beliefs embedded in those narratives coalesce to form “worldviews.” Such worldviews help people answer questions such as: What is the nature of reality? How do I gain access to trustworthy knowledge about reality? What went wrong with the world and how do we fix what went wrong? Worldview and the Christian Life recognizes that a Christian worldview arises from the Bible, which is God’s authoritative revelation given to us as “the true story of the whole world.” For that reason, this book evaluates other worldviews in light of the Bible’s grand narrative, demonstrating the logical coherence of the Christian worldview and illustrating its ability to make sense of the world inside of us (existential viability) and the world outside of us (empirical adequacy).
